Phase 2-3 transition, charge the spur again, then go to the left side of ballos fire such that 2-3 eyes on the left side are hit, then switch to the blade & fire straight up while running left, so that both the blade & nemesis hit. Once he can take & deal damage, fire & switch to bladeĪim straight up, due to hitbox size, both the blade & nemesis hitĭuring the phase 1-2 transition, stand near the right end of the arena & charge the spur perch on the right eye & when the health bar appears, fire then switch to lvl 3 super missiles he should do only 1 or 2 jumps before that phase ends & he should be at the right side of the arena Quick way to beat ballos: charge spur to max pre-phase 1, stand inside hitbox If you're not a big DeviantART user but still want to keep up with my works, you can follow me on Twitter: ( /_GameSquid) Yes, I'm giving advice because it took me many tries to get through this hellish place.Ĭurly Brace & Quote © Studio Pixel & Nicalis Nemesis > Lv1 Spur when it's impossible to fire both in the same direction. So during bosses, I'd prefer to use Nemesis while Quote uses the upgraded Polar Star, the Spur, with no charge, especially that strategy on that Thwomp-like boss - go under the core, face up, mash shoot so that Lv1 Spur + Nemesis attack and it'll rack up damage. Best part: regardless of your weapon level, Curly's weapon will always be the Lv1 Nemesis (the most powerful). I haven't played Cave Story in years, but if there's anything I remember about it, it's the damned Bloodstained Sanctuary (aka "Hell" in some translations).Ĭurly Brace is actually a god-send in the Bloodstained Sanctuary because she can fire behind you with the Nemesis. The Curly design here is mostly based off the Cave Story+ design because it's just my favourite with the baggy clothes, though I did take some notes from some other Curly designs such as her 'Blade Strangers' appearance. Maybe the more experience triangles she gains, the bigger she'll grow? Together with a normal-sized Quote, they raid the Bloodstained Sanctuary! Should theoretically make the journey much easier.
